Zhang Zhili, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Wu Wengang, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province, attended the meeting and delivered remarks.

The meeting noted that, since the second meeting of the coordination mechanism, and with the joint efforts of all member organizations, the Base has steadily strengthened its capacity to provide strategic support, deepened technical talent cooperation, continuously improved the quality and effectiveness of services to the agricultural sector, and further expanded its international influence. These efforts have made a positive contribution to advancing agricultural cooperation among SCO member states.

The meeting called for thoroughly implementing President Xi Jinping’s key instructions on developing the SCO Agricultural Base and following the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. It called for effectively organizing major activities such as the SCO Agricultural Expo, continuously improving the effectiveness of relevant scientific and technological cooperation platforms in promoting and applying technologies, establishing a multilevel, regularized talent development system, and facilitating the implementation of more economic and trade cooperation initiatives in agriculture. The meeting also called for all member organizations of the coordination mechanism to strengthen coordination and collaboration, pool their efforts, and work together to develop the Base into a high-level platform for agricultural opening-up under the SCO framework.
