Zhang Zhili, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Maxim Markovich, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, co-chaired the 13th Meeting of the Agricultural Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Russia Prime Ministers’ Regular Meeting Committee in Beijing on August 27. The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics including agro-trade, mutual access for agri-produce, S&T and talent development, and animal husbandry and veterinary medicine. 

Vice Minister Zhang said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, agricultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia in various fields have progressed steadily and achieved notable results. China stands ready to work with Russia to promote the development of bilateral agro-trade, deepen cooperation in areas such as agricultural S&T, talent cultivation, the seed industry, and animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, so as to contribute to the development of the China–Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Coordination for the New Era. 

Deputy Minister Markovich said that agricultural cooperation is an integral part of China–Russia relations and that the two sides have made notable progress in practical agricultural cooperation. Russia stands ready to strengthen communication and coordination with relevant Chinese authorities and broaden cooperation across multiple areas, so as to facilitate the high-level development of bilateral relations.
