Minister Han Jun met with Florin-Ionut Barbu, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Romania, in Beijing on March 17. They had an in-depth exchanges on advancing practical cooperation in agriculture between China and Romania.
Minister Han noted that China and Romania have a long history of friendly cooperation, highlighting the solid foundation and vast potential in bilateral agricultural cooperation. China stands ready to work with Romania to improve bilateral agricultural cooperation mechanisms and tap cooperation potential in areas such as food security, agricultural product processing, protected agriculture, the grape and wine industry, and trade in agricultural services, with the goal of further elevating cooperation.
Minister Barbu stated that Romania attaches great importance to agricultural cooperation with China and agrees with the proposals for advancing bilateral agricultural cooperation. He expressed Romania's eagerness to enhance exchanges in agricultural science and technology, broaden economic and trade cooperation in agriculture, and contribute to agricultural development and food security.
Following the meeting, the two ministers signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Agricultural Cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Romania.
Chief Veterinary Officer Tao Huaiying attended the meeting.
