
Han Jun, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, met with Peter Kullgren, Minister for Rural Affairs of Sweden, in Beijing on November 7. They exchanged views on advancing practical cooperation in agriculture and rural affairs between China and Sweden.
Minister Han stated that through the concerted efforts of both sides, China and Sweden have achieved remarkable results in areas such as agro-trade, investment, and sci-tech. He noted that there is vast potential in China–Sweden agricultural cooperation. China is willing to fully leverage bilateral agricultural cooperation mechanisms and work with Sweden to expand mutually beneficial agro-trade activities. In addition, China hopes to engage in exchanges with Sweden and promote mutual learning in areas such as dairy processing, research on antibiotic use and resistance, green agriculture, and rural development, and strengthen policy communication and coordinate positions within the FAO and other multilateral frameworks.
Minister Kullgren said that Sweden attaches great importance to its cooperation with China. He also agreed with Minister Han’s views and suggestions on advancing bilateral cooperation in agriculture and rural affairs. He said that Sweden is willing to deepen cooperation with China in areas such as agro-trade, green and low-carbon agriculture, and rural development.
