Han Jun, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, met with Angel Manuel Manero Campos, Minister of Agricultural Development and Irrigation of Peru, in Beijing on July 2. They exchanged views on deepening China–Peru cooperation in agriculture. 

Minister Han stated that under the strategic guidance of the heads of both countries, agricultural cooperation between China and Peru has steadily improved, yielding notable results in areas such as S&T research, multilateral collaboration, and economic and trade interactions. He proposed that the two countries should further enrich bilateral cooperation and generate more tangible outcomes in areas including germplasm resources, agro-trade, and agricultural machinery. 

Minister Manero strongly agreed with Minister Han’s suggestions on expanding bilateral agricultural cooperation. He expressed the hope that within the framework of the sound bilateral relationships, the fifth meeting of the China–Peru Joint Committee on Agriculture would be convened at an early date to promote new progress in agricultural cooperation between the two countries. 

Vice Minister Zhang Zhili attended the meeting.
