Han Jun, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, met with Georgi Tahov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Bulgaria, in Beijing on May 19. They exchanged views on deepening China–Bulgaria cooperation in agriculture.
Minister Han said that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China and Bulgaria have maintained productive interaction in agriculture. The two countries have continuously deepened cooperation in areas such as agro-trade and agricultural technology, and maintained frequent exchanges in agriculture under the cooperation framework between China and Central and Eastern European Countries. China hopes to work with Bulgaria to firm up the foundation for cooperation, expand agro-trade, and broaden cooperation in agricultural technology, thus continuously improving practical agricultural cooperation between the two sides.
Minister Tahov expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China for attaching great importance to the Bulgarian delegation’s visit. He strongly endorsed the proposals for deepening bilateral agricultural cooperation. He said that Bulgaria is willing to strengthen exchanges with China in areas such as agricultural exports to China and agricultural technology, in order to achieve further progress in Bulgaria–China agricultural cooperation.
Vice Minister Zhang Zhili attended the meeting.
