Vice Minister Ma Youxiang met with Khalil-ur-Rahman Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, in Beijing on Apr. 9. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening agricultural cooperation between China and Pakistan.
Vice Minister Ma welcomed Hashmi to China as the Ambassador of Pakistan and expressed looking forward to seeing more tangible results in China–Pakistan agricultural cooperation during his tenure. Vice Minister Ma noted that China and Pakistan have made significant achievements in agricultural cooperation with constantly improving mechanisms, steadily growing agricultural trade, strengthened exchanges in science and technology, and the latest breakthroughs in industrial cooperation. China hopes to work with Pakistan to further agricultural cooperation, particularly in policy dialogue, trade and investment, S&T cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges, to enhance agricultural resilience and modernization of both countries.
Ambassador Hashmi commended China’s efforts and achievements in implementing the rural revitalization strategy and promoting green agriculture. He said Pakistan hopes to enhance communication with China and jointly take bilateral pragmatic cooperation in agriculture to a new high.
