The fifth meeting of the Subcommittee on Agricultural Cooperation under the China–Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee was held via video conference on Apr. 8. Ma Youxiang, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, and Kakhramon Yuldashev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, co-chaired the meeting. The two sides had in-depth exchange on various topics, including cooperation in agricultural economics and trade, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, fishery, the seed industry, and S&T and education, and reached a broad consensus.
Vice Minister Ma pointed out that agricultural cooperation is an important part of the all-round cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. With the joint efforts of both sides, bilateral cooperation in agriculture has flourished in recent years. High-level exchanges have become more frequent; agro-trade has continued to grow; and investment and cooperation have maintained good momentum. China will implement the consensus reached by the presidents of both countries, continue to find new models of cooperation, and achieve more tangible results through bilateral agricultural cooperation, thus contributing to the building of a China–Uzbekistan community with a shared future.
Deputy Minister Kakhramon Yuldashev spoke highly of the bilateral cooperation. He said Uzbekistan attaches importance to agricultural cooperation with China and is willing to further enhance mutual learning, better complement each other, and raise the level of China–Uzbekistan agricultural cooperation, so as to promote agricultural development in both countries.
Representatives from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.
