To prevent the introduction of infectious and parasitic diseases of animals into China, protect livestock and fishery production and safeguard public health security, in accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Entry and Exit Animals and Plants Quarantine and the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Animal Epidemic Prevention, the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) jointly developed the List of Quarantine Diseases for the Animals Imported to the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as “List”). The List is hereby issued and shall go into effect as of the date of issuance. The List A and List B Diseases for the Animals Imported from other Countries into the People’s Republic of China, issued by MOA on June 8, 1992, shall be abolished simultaneously.

 

The List is a dynamic one. Based on risk evaluation, it can be modified upon the approval from MOA and AQSIQ.
