The 22nd China International Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF) concluded successfully at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin) on Oct. 19, 2025.
Hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and under the theme “empowering brands for rural revitalization, boosting consumption for vibrant growth” , the 22nd CATF brought together 3,965 enterprises from across the country, showcasing over 25,000 high-quality agricultural products. Nearly 60,000 professional buyers and industry representatives attended for business matchmaking. Preliminary data indicate a turnout of over 300,000 visitors, with average daily attendance surpassing 100,000. On-site transactions exceeded RMB 100 million, and more than 8,500 intended cooperation agreements were reached, underscoring CATF’s growing role as a national platform for agricultural trade and exchange.
The fair generated strong momentum in promoting agricultural consumption. A premium brand pavilion was established to highlight signature regional brands and emerging trendsetters. A series of supporting events—including the “Brand Night” livestreaming campaign and the National Agricultural Product Buyers Alliance Networking Session—were held to strengthen marketing links and consumer engagement. Over 100 matchmaking sessions drew more than 3,000 major buyers, including leading e-commerce platforms, large wholesale markets, community group-buying leaders, supply chain enterprises, and centralized procurement units. These activities comprehensively expanded sales channels and boosted market vitality. Delegations from the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region conducted on-site negotiations, while livestream hosts and community leaders facilitated product selection and online sales. Popular products such as Tianjin Shawo radishes, Yuelong sweet potatoes, Pingyao beef, and Ningxia Tan mutton became bestsellers.
The fair also underscored its leading role in advancing industrial development. The forum on building a strong agricultural nation focused on strengthening modern agriculture through technological innovation, green transformation, quality improvement, and brand cultivation. A newly designed Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Collaborative Pavilion highlighted regional coordination and  inter-provincial cooperation. The exhibits covered the full agricultural value chain, presenting achievements from production to processing and marketing. The “adopting an all-encompassing approach to food” zone showcased progress in diversifying food supply systems, while dedicated areas for agricultural technology and smart farming demonstrated the sector’s modernization. The farming culture zone, integrating storytelling and intangible heritage, reflected the deep cultural roots of Chinese agriculture and infused agricultural products with added cultural value.
The fair’s international influence continued to grow. Thailand served as the guest country of honor, while national pavilions representing Italy, Brazil, Uganda, New Zealand, Malaysia and others showcased distinctive agricultural products. The event also featured the China–SCO Agricultural Cooperation Pavilion and an International Food Street, adding cultural and culinary diversity. A total of 66 enterprises from 19 countries across five continents participated, presenting over 100 well-known international brands. Multiple international business matchmaking events were organized to promote global agricultural trade and cooperation.
The fair’s communication impact was extensive and multidimensional. Over 100 online influencers were invited for on-site coverage. The fair was widely featured by Tianjin TV, Tianjin Radio, and mainstream citywide media networks, including transit hubs, outdoor screens, the Haihe River light show, customized bus routes, and the “Harvest Express” themed metro line. These efforts significantly increased public participation and strengthened the fair’s reach among local residents.
