Zhang Zhili, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, met with Rodrigo Santos, President of Bayer’s Crop Science Division, in Beijing recently.
Vice Minister Zhang stated that China has always regarded ensuring food security as a top priority in work related to agriculture, rural areas, and the rural population. China continues to increase its grain production capacity, advance high-quality agricultural development, improve the efficiency of agricultural resource utilization, and accelerate the all-round green transformation of agriculture. These efforts will create more opportunities for Bayer and other foreign agricultural companies to operate and thrive in China. Zhang emphasized that the country will remain committed to promoting high-level opening-up in agriculture and fostering investment and trade facilitation in the sector, thus creating an excellent business environment for foreign companies to prosper.
Santos highlighted Bayer’s long-standing commitment to China, where the company has been actively engaged in seed, crop protection, and production service businesses. He affirmed that Bayer will continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese market and leverage its advanced concepts, technologies, products, and services to contribute to China’s food security and agricultural modernization.
