Han Jun, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, met with Istvan Nagy, Minister of Agriculture of Hungary, in Beijing on June 17. They exchanged views on deepening China–Hungary cooperation in agriculture. 

Minister Han noted that China and Hungary enjoy friendly relations. He said under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, agricultural departments of both sides have maintained close personnel exchanges and achieved fruitful cooperative results in areas such as agro-trade and S&T. China seeks to work with Hungary to further tap cooperative potential in agriculture and strengthen agricultural cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries, thus taking China–Hungary agricultural cooperation to a new level.  

Minister Nagy expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China for attaching great importance to the Hungarian delegation’s visit. He endorsed views and suggestions on deepening bilateral agricultural cooperation. He said Hungary seeks to maintain communication with China on topics including agro-trade and animal disease prevention and control, in order to continuously improve practical agricultural cooperation between the two countries. 

Vice Minister Zhang Zhili attended the meeting.
