Vice Minister Zhang Zhili Meets with Brazilian Senator Tereza Cristina

Vice Minister Zhang Zhili met with Tereza Cristina, Senator for the state of Mato Grosso do Suland and former Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply of Brazil, in Beijing on Nov. 14. They exchanged views on advancing agricultural cooperation between China and Brazil. 

Vice Minister Zhang noted that, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China and Brazil have cultivated a sound mechanism for agricultural cooperation and maintained close exchanges in this field. Bilateral agricultural cooperation has evolved into one of the most dynamic and promising areas of cooperation. China hopes to enhance cooperation with Brazil in areas such as technological innovation, biotechnology, low-carbon agriculture, and agricultural economy and trade, thereby contributing to stronger bilateral relations and global food security.  

Senator Tereza Cristina expressed her gratitude for the warm reception. She stated that Brazil looks forward to even closer agricultural cooperation with China and welcomes more Chinese companies to invest in Brazil to jointly promote economic and trade development in agriculture between the two countries.
