Ambassador Guang Defu Attends Launch Event for FAO’s “One Country One Priority Product” Country Projects

Ambassador of China to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Guang Defu attended the launching ceremony of FAO’s Global Action on One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) country projects via video link on Nov. 3, 2022.

A dedicated FAO global OCOP website was launched along with an implementation mechanism for country projects. A list of potential country projects was released, covering 50 special agricultural products from 78 countries. Tea promoted by China is on the SAPs list under OCOP country projects.  

The FAO’s OCOP country projects is a five-year program (2021-2025) launched in September 2021. It aims to promote unique agricultural products at the global, regional and local levels, spurring efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood system.  

Counselor Li Bo, also Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the FAO, attended the launch event in person.
