The Global Humanitarian Response Hub in China Inaugurated

A Global Humanitarian Response Hub was inaugurated in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, on July 14. Li Jinxiang, National Chief Veterinary Officer of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, attended the event and delivered remarks. The Chief Veterinary Officer was joined by Ye Zhenqin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, Qu Sixi, World Food Program (WFP) China Representative and Qiao Jianrong, Acting Head of the World Health Organization Office in China.

 

This ceremony marks the first landing of the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot in China. With an area of 34,000 cubic meters and a total of 29,658 pallet positions, this warehouse is closer to supply chains than any other warehouse in the United Nations system. It will provide support for the WFP and other institutions to carry out global humanitarian assistance and route epidemic response resources. The warehousing of resources has already started.
