2020 China International Food Ingredients Expo Held in Guangdong

The 2020 China International Food Ingredients Expo (“CIFIE”) was successfully held in Dongguan, Guangdong Province from Oct. 15 to 20. Chief Agronomist and Director-General of the General Office of MARA Guang Defu attended the opening event and delivered a speech.

This year's CIFIE took an innovative form combinng an online expo with concurrent offline events, and attracted a total of over 1,500 enterprises to participate in. According to statistics, the online expo received 187 million visits in total and the transaction value hit RMB 72.5 million, while the offline transaction value reached RMB 123 million. At the Expo, strategic partnership agreements were signed with a total value of RMB 500 million, and around RMB 3.5 billion project funds were made available through supply chain financing.

CIFIE 2020 adopted a new mode bringing livestreaming, cloud expo and mini variety shows together. It made good use of various media outlets to deliver digitalized images and texts, short videos and live broadcasting, providing grand new experience for visitors with a comprehensive view of the event. In addition, nine specialized forums were also held in both virtual and physical forms, covering a wide range of topics like free trade zone agricultural policies, transboundary agro-product e-commerce development, international trade and trade barrier responses, blockchain-enabled food safety, high-quality industrial development, and so forth.

This year's CIFIE established a poverty alleviation exhibition zone with support of multiple e-commece platforms. More than 500 product items of 88 companies from 10 poverty-stricken cities or counties were displayed in the zone, and the online transaction registered RMB 4.65 million.
