Source:MARA Date:2020-07-25

A ceremony was held at the Pakistani Embassy to China on July 23, 2020 to hand over China-donated plant protection drones to Pakistan for locust control.

The donation signifies a crucial move by MARA to help improve Pakistan’s capacity in locust control. Earlier, China sent an expert group and locust-control pesticide and equipment to Pakistan, which enabled Pakistan to control locust swarms in a timely manner. Going forward, China will provide assistance within its capacity in light of Pakistan’s needs and changes in the infestation.

Ahmed Farooq, Charge d’Affaires of the Pakistani Embassy to China stated that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners with good tradition of mutual assistance. He expressed sincere gratitude to MARA for the donation, saying that the donation proved the brotherhood between China and Pakistan.

In the next stage, China and Pakistan will enhance cooperation in plant protection and take bilateral agricultural cooperation to a new high.
