Source:Information Center MARA Date:2020-06-29

During week 26 of 2020 (i.e., June 22-24; hereinafter “this week”), the average pork price index in 16 provincial-level regions jointly tracked by Information Center of MARA and Sublime China Information Co., Ltd. was 46.00 yuan (about $6.56) per kg, up 2.4% month-on-month, 89.4% year-on-year and 2.3% week-on-week.

Nationwide pork prices edged up this week compared with last month as the Dragon Boat Festival approached. Some slaughterhouses began to stock up hogs and speed up slaughter for the holiday, driving up hog prices, thus propelling the rise in pork prices.
