Deputy Director-General Hu reviewed some of the fruits of China’s agricultural cooperation with relevant countries since the establishment of the SCO agricultural cooperation mechanism, and introduced the “SCO Demonstration Base for Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training,” which was inaugurated in Yangling, Shannxi Province in 2020. He pointed out that the FECC, as a key platform for China’s foreign cooperation in agriculture and a key player in conducting such cooperation, has always kept close contact with the SCO Secretariat, SCO countries, Lianyungang city, and major export-oriented agricultural companies. Positive results have been achieved in furthering grain and agro-product trade among SCO countries, and promoting healthy and orderly development of the agricultural industry. He also said that against the backdrop of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, frequent natural disasters, and the worsening world food situation, the FECC is ready to step up cooperation with all parties in the areas of food security, production capacity, S&T innovation, and the industrial and supply chains, so as to achieve higher levels of agricultural cooperation.
