Vice Minister Ma Youxiang Meets EU Ambassador to China

Vice Minister Ma Youxiang met with Nicolas Chapuis, outgoing Ambassador of the European Union to China, in Beijing on July 15, 2022.    

Vice Minister Ma expressed appreciation to Ambassador Chapuis for his contribution to China-EU agricultural cooperation during his stay in China. He said China and the EU have all along maintained frequent communication and effective exchanges in the fields of agricultural policy, agricultural science and technology, geographical indications, and animal health. Bilateral agricultural trade is growing steadily. All these have exemplified the resilience and vitality of China-EU agricultural cooperation.   

Vice Minister Ma stressed that China and the EU share broad common interests and goals in agriculture, expressing that the two sides could prioritize maintaining close cooperation in areas such as sustainable agricultural development and capacity building for young talents, and speed up the formulation of China-EU cooperation plan for agricultural and rural development for an earlier sign.   

Ambassador Chapuis commended the achievements in China-EU agricultural cooperation over the years, saying he will continue following and supporting China-EU agricultural cooperation.
