Workshop on Smart Agriculture Development Held in Anhui

The workshop on experience-sharing in smart agriculture development was held in Wuhu City, Anhui Province on June 10, 2021. The workshop aimed at sharing experience, promoting best practices and propelling nationwide development in smart agriculture, and furthering digital villages. 

The workshop emphasized that smart agriculture is the inevitable product of accelerated development of modern information technology. Grounding efforts in the new development stage, applying the new development philosophy and creating a new pattern of development, competent departments of agricultural information at various levels should incorporate the development of smart agriculture and digital villages into the drive of turning China into a cyber powerhouse, digital China initiative and governance with IT-based application.       

The workshop called for accelerating the application of digital technologies in agriculture and improving smart farming to advance agricultural modernization. To this end, efforts should be intensified in data resources, solutions-oriented approaches and breakthrough in major technologies while giving priorities to practical scenarios and effectiveness.  

Zhao Chunjiang, an academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered the keynote speech. Representatives from the Agriculture Information Center of Anhui Province, the Jiansanjiang Branch of the Beidahuang Group and seven other institutions and enterprises shared respective experience and best practices at the workshop.  

Attending the workshop were representatives from national and provincial institutions and enterprises specializing in agricultural information.
