The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) and China Post Group Co., Ltd. held a meeting in Beijing on March 29. Tang Renjian, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Liu Aili, Chairman of China Post Group Co., Ltd., attended the meeting.
Minister Tang pointed out that China Post Group has made sustained efforts to serve the development of agriculture, farmers and rural areas and vigorously support poverty alleviation programs, making positive contributions to the reform and development of agriculture and rural areas. After the priority for agricultural development is shifted to promoting rural revitalization in an all-round manner, a huge demand for consumption and investment will be unleashed.
Minister Tang said MARA will support China Post Group to leverage its own advantages to target the needs of agriculture, farmers and rural areas and continuously expand and deepen its service for rural revitalization effort. He said efforts should be made to provide innovative financial service products and models to make it much easier for emerging agricultural entities to get loans at a reasonable price. Moreover, China Post Group can contribute to the construction of cold chain logistics facilities for the warehousing and preservation of agro-products in an effort to improve the rural logistics system. It should also promote the high-quality development of rural e-commerce, use multiple models and channels to promote the sale of agricultural products, and create a typical “Internet +” model for agro-products to be sold in urban markets.
Liu Huanxin, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Wei Baigang, Chief Economist and Director of the General Office of MARA, and Kang Ning, Vice President of China Post Group Co., Ltd., attended the meeting.
