Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Zhang Taolin attended the 13th Berlin Agriculture Ministers' Conference and delivered a speech on Jan. 22 via video link.
Zhang pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic has severely hit the agricultural supply chain and affected global food security. He called on all parties to help and cooperate with each other, take collective measures to reduce the impact of the pandemic, make every effort to stabilize agricultural production, reduce trade restrictions, ensure the flow of agricultural products, strengthen support for developing countries, and reduce food loss and waste.
Under the theme "How to Feed the World in Times of Pandemics and Climate Change?", this summit aimed to discuss global food security issues amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Ministerial representatives from more than 110 countries and international organizations attended the meeting.
