The 18th China International Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF) opened in Chongqing City on Nov. 27, 2020. The event was co-hosted by the MARA and Chongqing Municipal People’s Government. Minister Han Changfu and Chongqing Mayor Tang Liangzhi addressed the event.
This year’s CATF is the largest of its kind in history, boasting the highest scale in exhibition area, exhibitor and buyer. The four-day event focused on promoting brand agricultural products and showcasing achievements in poverty alleviation by developing new products and industries in agriculture to create trade opportunities and facilitate direct seller-buyer contact.
This year’s CATF covered a record exhibition area of 200,000 square meters and the exhibition included two sections, exhibition on rural development and display and sale. The 18th CATF attracted over 12,000 enterprises bringing along over 80,000 types of exhibits, and more than 40,000 buyers.
This year’s CATF also offered other activities, including a forum on sustainable development of featured industries in regions that have shrugged off poverty, a digital countryside development forum, three ad hoc promotional events for brand products, and a promotional event for GI (geographical indication) products in China.
