7th Meeting of Agricultural Cooperation Subcommittee of China-Russia Prime Ministers’ Regular Meeting Committee Held

The 7th Meeting of Agricultural Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Russia Prime Ministers’ Regular Meeting Committee was held online on 15 October, 2020. The two sides exchanged views on issues of common interest in an in-depth manner and reached broad consensus.  

Vice Minister Zhang Taolin co-chaired the meeting. He expressed his appreciation that China and Russia have worked together and supported each other throughout the global COVID-19 pandemic, which is a testament to the high level mutual trust and strategic cooperation between the two countries. 

Vice Minister Zhang noted that agricultural cooperation is an important part of China-Russia bilateral relations and the agricultural sectors of the two countries should work together to build a closer and more solid cooperative relationship. China stands ready to work with the Russian side to further agricultural cooperation mechanisms. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Russia in agricultural trade and investment facilitation, border trade, access for agricultural products to each other’s markets, and exchanges in agricultural S&T to boost food security and economic recovery of both countries. 

In response, the Russian side stated that Russia attaches great importance to agricultural cooperation with China and is ready to make sustained efforts to take bilateral agricultural cooperation to a new high.
