The 2020 Rural Revitalization Forum (Taigu) was held in the Taigu District of Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province on Oct. 11-12. Vice Minister Han Jun attended and addressed the Forum.
With the theme of “Accelerating the Agricultural Modernization” , the Forum focused on organic dryland farming, the top ten industrial clusters in deep processing of agricultural products, international practices in green agriculture, rural governance systems and capacity, and the development of a modern agricultural industrial system. Good practices were shared at the Forum.
The Forum indicated that solid progress has been made in key fronts, particularly in increasing grain production, restoring hog production and shoring up weak areas in agriculture, rural areas and farmers as China strives to complete the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects. Agricultural development can be an anchor of China’ economic development, with prominent supporting role. This year is of crucial significance as China strives to secure a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and fight against poverty. In this context, agricultural and rural development emerges at a new starting point.
Over 100 officials and experts participated in the Forum, representing competent agriculture and rural departments and rural economic research institutions, as well as those counties designated for pilot rural reform.
