The 9th Annual Consultation Meeting of the FAO-China South-South Cooperation (SSC) Programme was successfully held on April 21, 2021.
The two sides reviewed achievements in FAO-China SSC Programme in 2020 against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. They also discussed work plan of FAO-China SSC Programme for 2021, and agreeing on top-level design, innovative models, management, monitoring and evaluation of projects, ranks of project managers and forging more partnerships under the framework of FAO-China Trust Fund Phase III.
Participants also discussed the implementation of SSC projects, direction for designing new projects, measures to increase influence and impact of projects, and solutions for some outstanding issues in the implementation.
Based on working-level negotiations in the preparation of this meeting, the two sides expounded respective concerns and considerations related with the implementation of the SSC Programme. Such a dialogue is conductive to the diversity and flexibility of the programme.
About 30 official or representatives attended the meeting, including Mr. Xie Jianmin, director general-level Counsel of MARA Department of International Cooperation, Ms. Li Zhiping, Deputy Director-General of MARA Foreign Economic Cooperation Center, Mr. Zhang Yahui, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Mr. Ye Anping, Director of the South-South and Triangular Cooperation Division of the FAO, Mr. Carlos Watson, FAO China Representative and officials from the China Permanent Representation to the FAO.
