Ambassador Niu Dun Attends FAO High-Level Symposium

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) held a high-level virtual symposium themed "The Impact of Natural Disasters and Crises on Agriculture and Food Security” on March 18, and issued the report: The Impact of Disasters and Crises on Agriculture and Food Security: 2021. According to the report, the impact of natural disasters on agriculture and food directly threatens sustainable development in society, the economy, and the environment. The report emphasized that as the frequency and intensity of natural hazards has increased in recent years, it is extremely necessary to take comprehensive actions and boost investment to effectively reduce the impact of natural disasters on agriculture and food.

Ambassador Niu Dun, Permanent Representative of China to UN Agencies for Food and Agriculture, attended the symposium.
